AFTER SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION OFFERS GREATER ACCESS
Getting to the Club after school can be a barrier for kids and teens. This school year, the Club expanded pickup locations throughout the Wausau Area to offer greater access for young people to attend after-school programming at the Caroline S. Mark Site.
Transportation can be an overlooked need when it comes to the accessibility of services. Over 11,000 rides were given to Members last year, removing barriers to access for hundreds of kids and teens. The assurance of safe and reliable transportation makes attending the Club effortless; caregivers can pick Members up according to their own work and life schedules within a range of time in the evening, and Club Members can feel assured of regular participation in programming and events.
Transportation to the Club fulfills a need for families with schedules that would otherwise leave kids unsupervised at home after school. The Club offers a safe, supervised environment for Members to work on homework and participate in learning activities, with snacks and an evening meal available to all.
